Infos about our screensavers

Supported Operating System

Our screensavers "chillon.exe" and "flowerset8.exe" which you could download until 16 Feb 2007 did work with Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME. In some cases they did work with Windows XP and in some cases not. Those using Windows XP with SP2 may eventually get an error message while installing them.

On 16 Feb 2007, we did put up a new version of each screensaver "chillon2.exe" and "flowerset2.exe". The installation problem with XP should not occur anymore. Concerning Vista, I do not know how the screensavers installation will behave. If you experience either success or problems, I would be glad to hear from you. Please use the contact form to tell me. Security aspects

It is no secret that some screensaver publishers do put spyware or malware into their screensavers. We do NOT endorse such practices. Our screensavers do only contain photos taken among our own wallpapers. Nothing else. No flash, no sound, no video. And no malware. Our screensavers are built with Screensaver Factory Pro from Blumentals.

Spyware test

Now if you are not sure if you should believe me, please make the following test:

install the free spyware scanner Ad-Aware
Run Ad-Aware and clean up every spyware/malware trace that will be found by Ad-Aware on your computer
Then and only then install one of our screensavers

It is IMPORTANT to clean your PC BEFORE installing our screensaver ! else you could believe that something has been brought to your computer by our screensaver, when indeed it was already there before installing our screensaver.
Run Ad-Aware again and observe, like I did it, that Ad-Aware has nothing to complain about.

A word of caution

Instead of Ad-Aware you could also use some other renowned spyware checker. But keep your eyes open! There are sometimes cases of false alert. MS Antispyware may mislead you. It is supposed that in some cases it may just alert you because it does not find some kind of a signature that it expects in exe files, rather than because of some real trace of spyware. A kind of preventive paranoia that may do more harm than good.
