Scenery photography

space-filler
The biggest part by far of our scenery wallpaper are the photos, which are taken with a camera, either classic or digital, as the name photo does suggest you.

A part of the landscape photos, you can see in the galleries were taken many years ago. Till now, I had 5 different "classic" cameras and one digital camera.

First, I started with a Kodak Instamatic 104. There is no picture from these times in the gallery. They were of to poor quality.

My second camera was a Mamiya 528TL, a reflex camera, but with a fixed lens. You could just add a tele or a wide converter, but not change the complete lens. I did not use this one a very long time.

My third and fourth cameras were from Minolta, the XG2 and the XD7. Then I could finally change the lens, experiment with strong tele as well as fish eyes. A heavy electronic flashlight was a must of course. Many filters too. With time going on, it went more and more a burden to carry all these heavy accessories. One big camera bag was not enough.

Compact cameras got more sophisticated and smaller, they even got zooms and flashlights were integrated, so I decided to get a compact.
My fifth camera was an Olympus. The superzoom 110. With a zoom from 38 to 110mm and a weatherproof case.

My sixth and first digital camera is also an Olympus. The Camedia C2500. Probably the cheapest digital reflex camera at the time when I acquired it.  And probably obsolete already, the present successor could be the C2100.

While using "classic" cameras, I made nearly exclusively slides.  The slides, when digitized through a high resolution film scanner, still have a better resolution than my digital camera.

Nevertheless, I use quite exclusively the digital camera nowadays, because it is much more convenient.  It does not need to wait for the film processing.  Nor does it need the rather time consuming film scanning.  And most obvious, you will take much more photos this way,  because you can easily delete the bad ones without having the feeling of wasting money and film material!
